Discover delicious beechwood house smoked canadian maple syrup. With sweet and smoky notes, it’s utterly addictive.
What is maple syrup?
A natural sweetener, maple syrup is a delicious runny, sugary liquid. It’s particularly popular in North America and now made almost exclusively in Vermont, Canada. A classic topping over pancakes, there are many other tasty ways to use your syrup. Try using it in marinade for meat, drizzling on roasted carrots or using it as a substitute for honey. With a caramel-toffee-vanilla flavour, maple syrup is truly delicious. If you’re wondering whether it’s healthy, maple syrup contains many nutrients including calcium, magnesium and potassium. It has just as many calories as sugar, however, as a sweetener you won’t need to use as much maple syrup as sugar to get the same taste. It’s a natural ingredient that is unrefined and suitable for vegans too.
What is maple syrup made of?
Maple syrup is made from the sap of the maple tree. The sap is then boiled until all that remains is the syrup. Whilst most commonly produced in Canada, try our Australian local version made by Meatsmith.
How long does maple syrup last?
The Meatsmith syrup needs to be refrigerated and it will last for at least two weeks after opening. Be sure to check the best before date on your package for more accurate information.
